The Power of the Outdoors
This term, our Coffee and Conversation with Junior Kindergarten to Grade 4 families focused on the power of the outdoors. Embracing the outdoors is something we have long valued in our Junior School. In this episode, Wendy Macken, Director, Junior School, and Jasmine Hare, Ivy Compass Teacher, Junior School revisit this topic, inspired by the work of Ginny Yurick, founder of the 1000 Hours Outside movement and author of Until the Streetlights Come On: How A Return to Play Brightens Our Present and Prepares Kids for an Uncertain Future. We know small changes can make a big difference and hope this conversation inspires listeners to take a step towards spending more time outside.
